AD/B767/242 - Airworthiness Limitations and Inspections - Fuel Systems - CANCELLED

This document cancels a previous safety rule (called an Airworthiness Directive) that required specific inspections and maintenance limits for fuel systems on Boeing 767 aircraft.

What changed:

• The old Australian directive (AD/B767/242) is no longer in force as of 12 January 2010.
• Aircraft owners and operators must now follow a newer American aviation safety rule instead: FAA AD 2008-11-01 R1, issued by the US Federal Aviation Administration on 28 December 2009.

Why it matters: This is a routine regulatory housekeeping measure. When the country that designed the aircraft (the "State of Design" — in this case, the United States) issues a newer, updated safety directive, Australia typically adopts that foreign directive and cancels its older domestic equivalent to avoid duplication and ensure international standards are met.
