Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of Boeing 727 series aeroplanes (line numbers 1–887) to carry out inspections and corrective action on the main landing gear forward trunnion attach fittings in accordance with FAA AD 2004‑18‑08 and Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 727‑57A0132 (or later FAA‑approved revisions). CASA’s delegate issued the AD and set a revised effective date of 25 November 2004. Operators pay for inspections/repairs, must schedule maintenance to meet the compliance times, and act because stress‑corrosion cracks were found that could cause landing‑gear collapse.
