What it does
This instrument, published as AD/AMD 10/26 and effective 28 September 2006, mandates specific inspection, modification and replacement actions for the wing anti-ice flexible hoses installed on Dassault Aviation Falcon 10 aeroplanes. Mechanically, it requires three alternative sets of actions depending on the hose part-number and previous measures taken under AD/AMD 10/25 Amendment 1:
-
For aircraft fitted with wing anti-ice flexible hoses P/N FAL1005D that have been placarded to prohibit flight in icing conditions and which have an Aeroplane Flight Manual (AFM) Limitation section revision installed as required by AD/AMD 10/25 Amendment 1, the AD requires incorporation of Service Bulletin (SB) F10-313 revision 1, and removal of the prohibition placard and the AFM Limitation section installed under AD/AMD 10/25 Amendment 1 (Requirement 1 in the AD text).
-
For aircraft fitted with P/N FAL1005D hoses that are subject to monitoring every 10 flights during which the anti-ice system has been activated (as imposed by Requirement 2 of AD/AMD 10/25 Amendment 1), the AD requires incorporation of SB F10-313 revision 1 within the same short compliance window and states that monitoring must not allow more than 10 flights in which the anti-ice system has been activated since the last inspection (Requirement 2).
-
For aircraft already fitted with P/N FAL1007 hoses, the AD prescribes replacement of the hose at intervals not to exceed 700 flight hours (Requirement 3; Compliance 3).
The AD makes incorporation of SB F10-313 revision 1 a terminating action for AD/AMD 10/25 Amendment 1, and notes that AD/AMD 10/25 Amendment 1 will be cancelled at a future date. The AD also refers to EASA AD 2006-0114 dated 10 May 2006. The AD sets short compliance windows: the SB incorporation and, for monitored aircraft, the required inspections must be completed "within 330 flight hours or 7 months, which ever occurs first, following the effective date of this AD" (Compliance items 1 and 2). For aircraft with FAL1007 hoses, the replacement interval is set at "not to exceed 700 flight hours" (Compliance 3). The instrument was signed by James Coyne, Delegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority, on 16 August 2006.
