Plain English Summary

4/10 complexity

What this directive does: This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of certain Airbus A330 aircraft fitted with specified Ram Air Turbine (RAT) modules/actuators to check actuator serial numbers and, when the SN is 1286 or lower, inspect and correct the rotary solenoids so the RAT will deploy in an emergency.

Who it affects and why it matters: A330 operators bearing inspection and repair costs must follow Airbus Service Bulletin A330-29-3083 (as approved by the French DGAC); CASA enforces the requirement under CASR 1998.
