#### 142AA Conferring functions on TSRA (1) For the purpose of furthering the social, economic or cultural development of Torres Strait Islanders, or Aboriginal persons, living in the Torres Strait area, the Prime Minister may confer a departmental function on the TSRA. (1A) An instrument conferring a function under subsection (1) is not a legislative instrument. (2) The power under subsection (1) must be exercised by notice in the Gazette. (3) In this section: > departmental function means a function that has previously been performed by a Department of State of the Commonwealth.
