- The applicant, who was born on 24 March 1961 and who is, therefore, now aged 39, pleaded not guilty in the Supreme Court to a presentment alleging that she murdered Thomas Paul Geary on 24 September 1997. After a trial lasting eight days, the jury, on 29 April 1999, returned a verdict of guilty. After hearing a plea in mitigation of sentence, the learned trial judge sentenced the applicant on 11 May 1999 to 12 years' imprisonment and fixed a non-parole period of nine years.
- The applicant seeks leave to appeal against conviction on grounds that were amended pursuant to leave granted by the Registrar on 12 May 2000 in which it is contended that his Honour erred in the following ways.
