Background (why do you feel that you were being bullied?)
Held a higher position of responsibility/position. Beating acting manager for this position. Never got on with this individual even at teachers college because of his attitude, manner superiority complex to others, SNOB!
How has this had an effect on your working relationship with other colleagues?
Had to try to implement his orders/ instructions never quite clear on what he wanted. Very hard person to work out what he wanted as it changed as his feelings changed.
What processes have you, or did you follow?
Refused to be intimidated by this individual which lead to increased conflicts Refused to do the management role/timetabling until clear instructions provided
Refused to do time tables any more. Made official complaint to H.R. management.
Have you or did you seek any professional advise and what outcome has/did this produce?
Needed counciling to help stress levels. Union useless (resigned from as a result). Doctor for medication. Discussions with other staff.
How do you feel this effected your life, (professionally and personally)?
Less trusting. Stress, depression anger isolated oneself from friends + others and workmates. Didn't want to go to work, felt ill at work. Stopped doing all extras for department eg models, programs. Left job as soon as time came to go. It became a job nothing else.
Do you feel that this has had long term effects of you and in what way?
Has lead to depression low immune system get sick easily and often. Lost confidence in my abilities to deal with difficult, new ideas/processes, conflict resolutions, being a team player, mixing with others socially. No desire for promotions. I want to be left alone. Counting down days to I leave/retire. Low energy. disconnected!
