[15] The invoice was issued to the respondent, a person who had not asked for the work to be done. Even if the invoice was said to operate as a receipt, there was also no evidence that work was in fact done, billed and paid for by the person (the appellant) claiming loss in that amount.
[16] i.e., that the damage had been inspected and a number of quotes obtained, of which one had been chosen and proceeded with, and paid for, and a receipt obtained.
[17] The vehicle registration extract provided to the loss assessor referred to taxi 46, and a VIN ending in '3639', however somebody had handwritten on the document "previous rego TX173". The loss assessor's report also refers to the owner of the vehicle and insured being Amers Pty Ltd. The report says on page 1 it is conducted on the basis of images supplied by client, and that the client instructs the repairs are completed. The photograph which is meant to show that the repairs are completed is from the right bumper area, not left. There is also a part of the assessment report (on page 2) which refers to damage to a different part of the vehicle, and makes recommendations which seem to have no application to the damage to taxi 173.
