23 Responsible adults to be informed (1) As soon as practicable after a youth is: (a) arrested in relation to an offence; or (b) charged with an offence, the police officer who arrested or charged the youth must take all reasonable steps to ensure that a responsible adult in respect of the youth is notified of the arrest or charge. (2) The notification must include the time and place when the youth will be brought before the Court or, if summoned, when the youth must appear in court. (3) This section applies whether the responsible adult resides in the Territory or not. Youth Justice Act 2005 17
