169 Appointment of official visitors (1) The Minister may appoint a person to be an official visitor for a detention centre. (2) Not less than 3 official visitors must be appointed for each detention (3) An official visitor holds office for 3 years and is eligible for re-appointment. (4) An official visitor may resign his or her office by notice in writing to the Minister. (5) An official visitor receives remuneration, allowances and expenses as determined by the Minister.
