> > (1) A Judge who issues, varies or cancels a covert surveillance authority is to cause a record to be made of all relevant particulars of the issue, variation or cancellation of the authority and the grounds on which the Judge has relied to justify the issue, variation or cancellation.

> > (2) The Judge is to take all reasonable steps to preserve the confidentiality of information contained in such records and the privacy of any persons concerned. However, this subsection does not prevent the Judge from supplying any information to the Minister that is required for the purposes of a report under section 42 (Annual report).

> > (3) The regulations may make provision for or with respect to—

> > > (a) the keeping of records in connection with the issue of covert surveillance authorities, and
> >
> > > (b) the inspection of any such records, and
> >
> > > (c) any other matter in connection with any such records.
