585 False information (1) A person must not provide orally or in writing or by electronic communication any false or misleading information under this Act, the **Accident Compensation Act 1985** or the **Workers Compensation Act 1958**. (2) Subsection (1) is not limited to information in or in connection with any claim, application, certificate or notice under this Act, the **Accident Compensation Act 1985** or the **Workers Compensation Act 1958**. (3) A person must not make a statement knowing that it is false or misleading in a material particular— (a) in a notice given by the person under this Act, the **Accident Compensation Act 1985** or the **Workers Compensation Act 1958**; or (b) in a claim for compensation made by the person; or (c) in a medical certificate or other document that the person knows may accompany or be supplied in connection with a claim for compensation; or (d) in a declaration given under section 167(1)(b) of this Act or section 111(1)(b) of the **Accident Compensation Act 1985**.
