25 Medical certificate (1) A medical certificate referred to in section 20 that relates to a claim for compensation that is, or includes, compensation in the form of weekly payments must— (a) be issued by a medical practitioner; and (b) be in a form approved by the Authority; and (c) specify the expected duration of the worker's incapacity and whether the worker has a current work capacity or has no current work capacity. (2) A certificate issued or purporting to have been issued under subsection (1) is of no effect if it contains a material defect, omission or irregularity. (3) If a certificate issued or purporting to have been issued under subsection (1) is in respect of a period exceeding 14 days, it is of no effect after the first 14 days, unless the Authority or self‑insurer is satisfied that there are special reasons which require an extension of that period.
