#### 69 Action by employer in respect of claims 69 Action by employer in respect of claims (cf former s 93) > > (1) An employer (not being a self-insurer)— > > > > > (a) who receives a claim for compensation or any other documentation in respect of such a claim—must, within 7 days after receipt of the claim or documentation, forward it to the insurer who the employer believes is liable to indemnify the employer in respect of the claim, or > > > > > (b) who receives a request from that insurer for further specified information in respect of the claim or documentation—must, within 7 days after receipt of the request, furnish that insurer with such of the specified information as is in the employer’s possession or reasonably obtainable by the employer, or > > > > > (c) who has received compensation money under this Act from an insurer—must, as soon as practicable, pay the money to the person entitled to the compensation. > > > > Maximum penalty—50 penalty units. > > > (2) A person is not guilty of an offence for a failure to comply with any provision of subsection (1) if there was a reasonable excuse for that failure.
