#### 235 Non-assignability of compensation 235 Non-assignability of compensation (cf 1926 s 55; 1987 s 273) > > (1) Compensation under this Act (including the 1987 Act and the former 1926 Act)— > > > > > (a) is not capable of being assigned, charged or attached, and > > > > > (b) does not pass to any other person by operation of law, > > > > nor can any claim be set off against that compensation. > > > (2) Subsection (1) has no effect to the extent to which (but for this subsection) it would operate to prevent— > > > > > (a) the satisfaction of an obligation by the worker to maintain another person pursuant to an order of a court of competent jurisdiction, or > > > > > (b) the passing of accrued vested rights of a deceased worker to the legal personal representative.
