sec.636 Proceedings for offences against former ss 171 or 172

This section applies in relation to an offence against former section 171 or 172 committed by a person before the commencement. Without limiting the Acts Interpretation Act 1954 , section 20, a proceeding for the offence may be started or continued, and the person may be convicted of and punished for the offence, as if the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 , section 127 had not commenced. Subsection (2) applies despite the Criminal Code, section 11.
