#### 9 Liability to pay compensation for work assistance 9 Liability to pay compensation for work assistance > > (1) For the purposes of section 64B of the 1987 Act, a pre-injury employer is not liable to pay compensation for the cost of work assistance provided to assist a worker to return to work with a new employer if— > > > > > (a) the offer of employment with the new employer is an offer of employment for a period of less than 3 months, or > > > > > (b) the offer of employment has not been made in writing. > > > (2) The person on whom a claim for compensation under section 64B of the 1987 Act is made must, within 14 days after the claim is made, determine the claim by accepting, or disputing, liability to pay the compensation. > > > (3) Words and expressions used in this clause have the same meaning as in section 64B of the 1987 Act.
