128 Referral of misconduct to designated local regulatory authority
> > (1) If the Commission considers that any conduct of a law practice, lawyer or agent involves the deliberate charging of grossly excessive amounts of costs or deliberate misrepresentations as to costs, the Commission must refer the matter to the designated local regulatory authority (within the meaning of the [Legal Profession Uniform Law (NSW)](/view/html/inforce/current/act-2014-16a)).

> > (2) For the purposes of the [Legal Profession Uniform Law (NSW)](/view/html/inforce/current/act-2014-16a), the deliberate charging of grossly excessive amounts of costs and deliberate misrepresentations as to costs are each declared to be professional misconduct.

> > (3) The Commission may refer any failure by a law practice or lawyer to comply with a provision of this Division to the designated local regulatory authority (within the meaning of the [Legal Profession Uniform Law (NSW)](/view/html/inforce/current/act-2014-16a)).
