#### 64A Compensation for cost of interpreter services 64A Compensation for cost of interpreter services > > (1) If it is reasonably necessary for a worker to obtain the assistance of an interpreter in connection with a claim for compensation under this Act, the worker’s employer is liable to pay, in addition to any other compensation under this Act, the reasonable costs of any such assistance. > > > (2) The Authority may by order published in the Gazette— > > > > > (a) establish guidelines for determining the amount payable under this section, and > > > > > (b) fix the maximum amount payable under this section. > > > (3) Payments under this section are to be made as the costs are incurred, but only if properly verified. > > > (4) The Authority may pay any such costs (whether or not liability to pay those costs has been determined) and recover the amount from any employer liable to pay them. > > > (5) This section applies only to the costs of assistance provided in respect of a claim made after the commencement of this section. > > **s 64A:** Ins 1989 No 133, Sch 8 (5).
