48 Meaning of loss
loss, in relation to a thing—
(a) means—
(i) the loss of the thing; or
(ii) the permanent loss of the use, or efficient use, of the thing;
and
(b) includes the following:
(i) permanent musculoskeletal impairment, or another
permanent impairment;
(ii) a loss, damage, impairment, disfigurement or disease
mentioned in schedule 1 (Compensation for permanent
injuries).
