201 Medical referees
(1) The regulator may appoint a doctor as a medical referee for this Act.
(2) The regulator may appoint a doctor as a medical referee only if
satisfied that the doctor has the experience and expertise to
adequately perform the duties of a medical referee.
(3) A medical referee must not act as medical referee in relation to an
injury if the medical referee’s services have been used as a doctor in
relation to the injury by, or on behalf of, the employer, worker or
licensed insurer.
(4) A person appointed as a medical referee is to be paid the fees decided
by the Minister for the exercise of the person’s functions as a medical
referee.
(5) An appointment under subsection (1) is a notifiable instrument.
