185  Application of Part 5.1 to plant  (1) Subject to this regulation, and unless the contrary intention appears, this Part applies to:  (a) the design, manufacture, importation, supply, installation, construction and commissioning of plant; and  (b) the use, repair or disposal of plant, whether manufactured before, on or after 1 January 2012; and  (c) the hazard identification, risk assessment and control or risk in relation to plant, whether manufactured before, on or after 1 January 2012.  (2) Subject to subregulation (3), this Part does not apply to plant that:  (a) relies exclusively on manual power for its operation; and  (b) is designed to be primarily supported by hand.  (3) This Part applies to explosive power tools that are designed to be supported by hand.
