Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This regulation formally cancels (repeals) an earlier set of rules from 1951 that set out how a referendum on wool reserve prices would be run.

Who it affects: Mainly government administrators of the wool industry scheme. It may also affect wool growers who were subject to the referendum process established by the earlier regulations.

Why it matters: This is a housekeeping measure that removes outdated rules from the statute book. The 1951 regulations (called Statutory Rules 1951, No. 85) were created to run a referendum under the Wool (Reserve Prices) Fund Act 1950. Once that referendum was held or the scheme changed, those specific procedural rules were no longer needed, so this 1952 regulation wipes them from the books to keep the law tidy.
