38A Confidential documents to be kept and handled securely

38A Confidential documents to be kept and handled securely

(1) This section applies if an agency is in possession of confidential documents.

(2) The agency must take reasonable steps to ensure the confidential documents are kept and handled securely in accordance with—

(a) the principles referred to in the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998, section 12, and

(b) any requirements prescribed by the regulations.

(3) In this section—

confidential document means a document containing information relating to the witness protection program.
