(1) Whilst an entry made in the register of births or register of marriages under this Act continues in force, a person in respect of whom the entry is made must not use or obtain any document issued by the Registrar which is based on the previous entry.

(2) If an entry made in the register of births or register of marriages under this Act is cancelled, the Registrar, at the direction of the Chief Commissioner, must notify in writing the person in respect of whom the entry was made that the entry has been cancelled.

(3) A person who has been notified under subsection (2) must within 14 days of being notified return to the Chief Commissioner any document issued by the Registrar which is based on that entry and which is in the person's possession.
