93 Determining translations
(1) In determining a translation of a GI, the Geographical Indications Committee must: (a) identify the GI to which the translation relates; and (b) determine the translation to be used; and (c) determine any conditions of use that are to be applicable to the translation. (2) The Committee must not determine a different translation to the translation that was proposed in the application under subsection 60(2). (3) The Committee: (a) must consider whether the translation conveys or evokes the significance of the GI to which it relates; and (b) may consider any other matter it considers relevant. (4) However, the Committee must not consider any submission to the extent that the submission asserts a trade mark right in respect of the proposed translation.
