sec.22 Controls under the Act and this plan
Activities in the wet tropics area are controlled under the Act and this plan. The main way the Act controls activities is under section 56 of the Act , which contains offences about destroying forest products. This plan controls activities by— prohibiting certain activities; and allowing certain activities, which would otherwise be prohibited, to be carried out (either under a permit or without a permit); and exempting certain activities that destroy forest products, the consequence of which is that a person does not commit an offence against section 56 of the Act by carrying out the activities. See division 6 (Exemptions). This plan also provides for a person to enter into a cooperative management agreement with the authority changing the way this plan applies to the person. s 22 amd 2020 SL No. 176 s 11 (sec.22-ssec.1) Activities in the wet tropics area are controlled under the Act and this plan.
