#### 20 Academic Senate 20 Academic Senate > > (1) There is to be an Academic Senate of the University. > > > (2) The Academic Senate— > > > > > (a) is the peak forum of the University for academic debate and discourse, and > > > > > (b) is the primary custodian of academic values and standards for the University, and > > > > > (c) is a standing committee of the Board, and > > > > > (d) has such other functions as may be prescribed by the by-laws. > > > (3) The by-laws may provide for the constitution of the Academic Senate, including the election or appointment of members of the Academic Senate and the terms and conditions of office of those members.
