Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this law does This Act gives Western Australia a specific amount of financial assistance from the Commonwealth government for the year 1925–26.

The bottom line Western Australia gets enough money so that, when combined with what it’s already owed under an older law (the Surplus Revenue Act 1910), the total comes to £450,000 (pounds sterling).

How the money works

Where it comes from: The Consolidated Revenue Fund (the Commonwealth’s main bank account for government money).
Who decides how to spend it: The Parliament of Western Australia chooses what to spend it on, provided they approve the specific uses.
Payment schedule: The federal Treasurer decides whether to pay it all at once or in chunks (instalments).

Why it matters This is a one-off ‘top-up’ payment to ensure Western Australia receives a guaranteed minimum level of federal support for that financial year.
