Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This regulation completely scrubs (repeals) the Waterside Employment Regulations made in 1931.

In plain language: It deletes the previous year's rulebook for hiring, registering, and managing dockworkers and wharf labourers.

Who feels the impact:

Waterside workers (wharfies, stevedores) and their employers
Government agencies responsible for waterfront labour regulation

Why it's significant: Made during the Great Depression and a volatile era of waterfront industrial disputes, removing these regulations stripped away a specific framework for controlling waterfront employment. This likely shifted authority back to industrial courts, union agreements, or direct negotiations between workers and bosses.
