sec.26 Assessing impact of decisions about groundwater in Coastal Burnett groundwater management area

The Coastal Burnett groundwater computer program’s simulation for the groundwater simulation period is to be used to assess consistency with the environmental flow objectives and the water allocation security objectives for groundwater in the Coastal Burnett groundwater management area. If it is not practicable to use the Coastal Burnett groundwater computer program, another assessment method approved by the chief executive may be used. However, the chief executive may approve an assessment method for subsection (2) only if the chief executive is satisfied the method will assess consistency with the objectives at least as accurately as the Coastal Burnett groundwater computer program. (sec.26-ssec.1) The Coastal Burnett groundwater computer program’s simulation for the groundwater simulation period is to be used to assess consistency with the environmental flow objectives and the water allocation security objectives for groundwater in the Coastal Burnett groundwater management area. (sec.26-ssec.2) If it is not practicable to use the Coastal Burnett groundwater computer program, another assessment method approved by the chief executive may be used. (sec.26-ssec.3) However, the chief executive may approve an assessment method for subsection (2) only if the chief executive is satisfied the method will assess consistency with the objectives at least as accurately as the Coastal Burnett groundwater computer program.
