394A Methodologies for determining water volume and value
> > (1) The regulations may prescribe methodologies by which a determination of the following may be made for the purposes of this Act—
> >
> > > (a) a volume of water,
> >
> > > (b) the value of water.
>
> > (2) A prescribed methodology may be used to determine a volume of water if—
> >
> > > (a) a provision of this Act or the regulations expressly provides for the use of a prescribed methodology, or
> >
> > > (b) an actual measurement is unavailable, including due to the absence of metering equipment or a fault in metering equipment.
>
> > (3) A prescribed methodology must be used to determine the value of water if a provision of this Act or the regulations expressly provides for the use of a prescribed methodology.
>
> > (4) A methodology may be prescribed for—
> >
> > > (a) one or more specific provisions of this Act or the regulations, or
> >
> > > (b) all provisions of this Act and the regulations.
