11 Rights of owners or occupiers of land in contact with waterway to take water for certain purposes Subject to section 14A, the owner or occupier of land on or immediately adjacent to which there is a waterway may take water from that waterway for: (a) the use of the owner or occupier or the owner's or occupier's family and employees, for domestic purposes on the land; or Water Act 1992 13 (b) drinking water for grazing stock on the land; or (c) irrigating a garden, not exceeding 0.5 ha, which is part of the land and used solely in connection with a dwelling.
