1 Name of Declaration

This Declaration is the Warlike service – OPERATION SLIPPER Declaration 2009/1.

2 Revocation of Defence Force (Home Loans Assistance) (Warlike Service) Determination Operation SLIPPER

This Declaration revokes the Defence Force (Home Loans Assistance) Act 1990 (Warlike Service) Operation SLIPPER Declaration dated 7 December 2001.

3 Commencement

This Declaration commences on the day after it is registered.

4 Warlike service – OPERATION SLIPPER

For subsection 3C (1) of the Defence Force (Home Loans Assistance) Act 1990, duty is warlike service if it is rendered:

(a) in the specified areas defined below:

Specified Area number one is bounded by the following geographical coordinates:

48 00N 81 00E

48 00N 35 00E

12 00N 35 00E

12 00N 81 00E

Specified Area number two includes the Diego Garcia land mass and territorial waters, plus airspace of Diego Garcia out to 250nm (from Reference Point 07 18.6s 072 24.6E).

(b) as a member of the Australian Defence Force allotted for duty on OPERATION SLIPPER; and
