Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This regulation does one simple thing: it puts the Commonwealth Bank of Australia on an official list of approved financial institutions (called "prescribed institutions") under the War Service Homes Act 1918.

What this means:

War Service Homes were homes provided to returned World War I soldiers and their families.
Being a "prescribed institution" means the Commonwealth Bank could handle money, hold funds, or process financial transactions related to these housing schemes.
This is essentially administrative housekeeping — designating which bank could legally manage the accounts for these specific government housing loans.

The entire regulation is just one sentence long, simply naming the Bank as approved for the purposes of section 50 of the Act.
