What this does

This regulation cancels the Winter Butter Pool rules created during World War I.

Under emergency wartime powers (the War Precautions Act), the government had introduced rules in 1918 to control butter supplies and prices during winter months—a time when dairy production usually drops. These rules were known as the War Precautions (Winter Butter Pool) Regulations 1918.

Now that WWI has ended, this short 1919 regulation formally repeals (abolishes) those 1918 butter controls. It is essentially housekeeping to remove a temporary wartime economic restriction.

Who it affects

Primarily dairy farmers, butter producers, and wholesalers who were previously bound by the Winter Butter Pool scheme. For the general public, it means one fewer wartime control on food supplies.
