Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This short regulation abolishes (repeals) the wartime rules that controlled how tin plates could be bought, sold, and used in Australia during World War I.

What it does:

Removes the War Precautions (Tin Plates) Regulations 1917 (along with amendments made in 1917, 1918, and early 1919)
Ends emergency government controls over tin plates—a metal commonly used for canned food and manufacturing

Why it matters: During WWI, the Commonwealth used the War Precautions Act to restrict trade in scarce materials. These particular regulations limited who could deal in tin plates and under what conditions. By repealing them in April 1919, this regulation returns the tin plate trade to normal peacetime conditions after the war.
