Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

These regulations give the Minister of Defence power to compel manufacturers and holders of tallow to hand over specified quantities to the government during wartime. Owners must be paid, but compensation is capped at £45 per ton and, if contested, the Minister has final say on the amount. The measure lets the government redirect a key industrial input to military use without separate approvals.
