Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This Act authorizes the Australian Government to spend £37 million (roughly $1.1 billion in today's terms) from the national treasury to pay war pensions to veterans.

Specifically, it:

Takes the money from the Consolidated Revenue Fund (the government's main bank account)
Deposits it into the War Pensions Fund (a special trust account set up under the Audit Act)
Restricts the money to be used only for paying pensions to former servicemen and women who were injured or became ill during their military service

This is a simple "money bill" that ensures veterans receive their pension payments for the year.
