Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This Act authorizes the Australian Government to spend £31 million from the national treasury (called the Consolidated Revenue Fund) specifically to pay war pensions.

What it does:

Legally appropriates (sets aside) money for a trust account known as the War Pensions Fund
This funding ensures veterans and their dependants can be paid pensions they are entitled to receive

Who it affects:

Military veterans receiving disability or service pensions
Families and dependants of deceased or injured service members who qualify for pension support

Why it matters: Governments cannot spend public money without legal authority. This short law provides that authority for one specific purpose—funding war pensions for the 1951 financial period. Without it, pension payments would be illegal.
