Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This law authorises the Australian Government to spend £21 million from the national budget (the Consolidated Revenue Fund) to pay war pensions to veterans.

What it does:

Takes money from the government's main bank account (the Consolidated Revenue Fund)
Deposits it into a special trust account called the War Pensions Fund
Uses that money specifically to pay pensions to people who served in the military and were injured or disabled during war

Who it affects:

Veterans receiving war pensions (the money ensures their payments continue)
The government department managing these payments

Why it matters: Parliament must legally authorise every dollar the government spends. This Act provides that authorisation for war pensions, ensuring veterans receive their entitled support without delay. It is a straightforward "supply" law—essentially a permission slip to withdraw money from the national treasury for a specific purpose.
