Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This Act opens the government wallet for veterans.

It authorizes spending £19 million (in 1948 pounds) from Australia’s national treasury (the Consolidated Revenue Fund) specifically to pay war pensions — regular payments to veterans and their dependents.

The mechanics:

The money flows into a dedicated trust account called the War Pensions Fund (set up under auditing laws)
This is a standard “supply” bill — it gives the government legal authority to make these specific payments
Without this Act, the government would lack parliamentary approval to spend this money

That’s it. Three short sections, one clear purpose: ensuring veterans get their pensions funded.
