Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This Act gives £16 million to the government to pay war pensions to Australian veterans and their families.

What it does:

Takes money from the Commonwealth’s main bank account (called the Consolidated Revenue Fund)
Deposits it into a special trust account known as the War Pensions Fund
Uses this money to pay pensions to former service members who were injured, disabled, or killed during war

Who it affects:

Veterans and war widows receiving disability or service pensions
The government department responsible for veteran affairs

This is a budget measure — it simply authorises the spending of public money for a specific purpose without changing who qualifies for pensions or how much they receive.
