Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This Act authorises a £10 million withdrawal from the Consolidated Revenue Fund into the War Pensions Fund to finance pensions for veterans and their dependents. Passed in 1933, it primarily funded First World War disability and service pensions during the Depression.

As an appropriation measure, it’s Parliament’s legal authority for the government to make these pension payments; without it the government could not lawfully disburse the funds.
