Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This Act authorises the Australian Government to withdraw £10 million from the national treasury (the Consolidated Revenue Fund) to pay war pensions to veterans and their families.

What this means:

The money is specifically allocated to the "War Pensions Fund" — a dedicated account for supporting former World War I soldiers who were injured or disabled during service, as well as dependents of those who died.
This is essentially a budget approval bill. It ensures the government has legal authority to spend this money on pension payments during 1928.
The Act does not create new pension entitlements or change who qualifies; it simply provides the cash to pay existing commitments.

In short, this legislation puts money in the bank account set aside for honouring Australia's obligations to its war veterans.
