Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This law authorises the government to withdraw £10 million from the national treasury (the Consolidated Revenue Fund) and deposit it into a special account known as the War Pensions Fund.

What this means:

Purpose: The money is specifically earmarked to pay war pensions—regular financial support payments to former soldiers who were injured or disabled during military service, or to their dependants.
Who benefits: Veterans (primarily from World War I) and their families who are entitled to pension payments.
Legal effect: Without this Act, the government would lack the legal authority to spend this money on pensions. This is a "supply" law that simply opens the purse strings for a specific, limited purpose.
