Commonwealth act
This Act has been repealed and is no longer in force. It is retained for historical reference.
This Act creates a War Gratuity Trust Account, controlled by the Minister for Finance, to pay cash bonuses to Australian Second World War service personnel. It moves surplus wartime funds into the Consolidated Revenue Fund and sets aside over £23 million to be paid into the trust for distribution to veterans, with Parliament able to add more if needed.
