#### 148 Alternate members 148 Alternate members > > (1) If a member of the Board other than the chairperson is unable to act because of illness, absence or other cause, the Minister may appoint another person as an alternate member to act temporarily in the member’s place. > > > (2) If the deputy chairperson is acting in the chairperson’s place, the Minister may appoint another person as an alternate member of the Board to act temporarily in the deputy chairperson’s place. > > > (3) While acting in accordance with the person’s appointment, an alternate member of the Board is taken to be, and to have any entitlement of, a member of the Board. > > > (4) An act or omission of an alternate member of the Board must not be questioned on the ground the occasion for the appointment or acting had not arisen or had ceased.
