### sec.12 Residency exemptions
A person may apply to the chief executive for—
an exemption from the requirements in section 10 (1) (e) (i) , (ii) and (iii) (an Australian residency exemption ); or
an exemption from the requirement in section 10 (1) (f) (i) (a Queensland residency exemption ).
The chief executive must grant the exemption if satisfied that—
the person has a substantial connection to Queensland; and
a person who is a long term resident of a place close to the Queensland border and who works in Queensland and receives medical treatment in Queensland
a person who resides outside Queensland but who is a former resident of Queensland and whose family resides in Queensland
there are compassionate grounds for granting the exemption.
(sec.12-ssec.1) A person may apply to the chief executive for— an exemption from the requirements in section 10 (1) (e) (i) , (ii) and (iii) (an Australian residency exemption ); or an exemption from the requirement in section 10 (1) (f) (i) (a Queensland residency exemption ).
(sec.12-ssec.2) The chief executive must grant the exemption if satisfied that— the person has a substantial connection to Queensland; and a person who is a long term resident of a place close to the Queensland border and who works in Queensland and receives medical treatment in Queensland a person who resides outside Queensland but who is a former resident of Queensland and whose family resides in Queensland there are compassionate grounds for granting the exemption.
- (a) an exemption from the requirements in section 10 (1) (e) (i) , (ii) and (iii) (an Australian residency exemption ); or
- (b) an exemption from the requirement in section 10 (1) (f) (i) (a Queensland residency exemption ).
