28 Information to be provided if consulting medical practitioner assesses person as meeting eligibility criteria (1) If the consulting medical practitioner is satisfied that the person requesting access to voluntary assisted dying meets all the eligibility criteria, the consulting medical practitioner must inform the person about the following matters— (d) the potential risks of taking a poison or controlled substance or a drug of dependence likely to be prescribed under this Act for the purposes of causing the person's death; (e) that the expected outcome of taking a poison or controlled substance or a drug of dependence referred to in paragraph (d) is death; (g) that if the person is receiving ongoing health services from a registered medical practitioner other than the co-ordinating medical practitioner, the person is encouraged to inform the registered medical practitioner of the person's request to access voluntary assisted dying. (2) Nothing in this section affects any duty a registered medical practitioner has at common law or under any other enactment.
